The Best Way To Lose Weight?

With more people than ever overweight - from just a few pounds - all the way up to morbidly obese, it's no wonder that so many people are desperately searching for the simplest and best way to lose weight through natural weight loss and hoping to return to a healthier body and lifestyle, as quickly and painlessly as possible.

From liquid diets such as the cabbage soup diet, to the low-carb diet that works in phases like the Atkins or the South Beach Diet, there are many programs out there that offer excellent weight loss tips designed to fit every lifestyle.

There are also many, many fad diets already being promoted every day, and it seems like someone comes along with yet another one at least every week claiming they have found 'the magic bullet' to losing weight and keeping it off forever. Unfortunately, this is rarely the case.

Because of the difficulty involved in continuing to follow these fad diets which are notorious for being much too rigid to maintain for any length of time, or alternatively because the diet is detrimental to your overall health, the majority of these weightloss programs just don't work for the average person.

Losing weight is one of the most difficult things in life for people who have weight issues, and keeping the weight off, once lost, is even more difficult. And even though there is no shortage of ways one can lose weight, not all diets work for everyone so you may have to try several different approaches in order to find what works best for you.

In Search Of A Healthy Diet Plan

Today weight and stress related diseases are at their peak. Two thirds of Americans are overweight, and one third of those who are overweight are considered obese. Therefore, no one should be surprised by the fact that cardiac disease, diabetes, stroke and cancer are at an all time high.

And physical illnesses are not the only problems associated with obesity. The social aspects and mental health effects of being overweight can be detrimental to our health as well. People who are overweight are often mistreated or completely ignored by others who generally judge them by their appearance which can cause further complications such as anxiety and depression in the overweight individual.

As a result of these probelms, people are turning to the weight loss industry in huge numbers in order to decrease these weight related diseases and discrimination issues, but a healthy diet plan is hard to find in the sea of prescription and over the counter supplements that adversely affect the body.

Healthy weight loss means you have a realistic understanding of what you want to achieve. This understanding is based on your own body type and lifestyle and not on that of the most recent bony model.

A Healthy Weight Reduction

To get started with your healthy weight reduction plan of action, you need to first define your goals, write them down and put them where you can see them every day.

  • Start with balanced nutrition and the correct portions of protein, fruits, vegetables and water. Serving sizes are much smaller than you might anticipate so it's important to familiarize yourself with the correct sizes, using a small scale if necessary.
  • Don't deprive yourself, as this will only lead to failure. Healthy weight loss does not mean denying yourself nutrients or your favorite meals. This will only cause you to obsess over what you are missing, and failure will be inevitable.
  • Since you will want to keep your body fueled and not feeling hungry, it's best to break your meals up into 4-6 smaller meals each day rather than 1-3 larger ones. Feeling hungry generally brings about cravings which are harder to resist than the feeling of hunger, so if possible you want to stop both before they start.
  • Rid your diet of the junk food you may be accustomed to. There is no place in a healthy diet for hamburgers and fries, candy and other sweets, processed foods, and other fat and sugar laden foods. Make sure that when you want a snack or get hungry, your available choices are apples, bananas, or other healthier food choices.
  • Drink lots of water each day as this flushes out toxins and waste products from your body. One rule of thumb is having 4 oz of water for every hour you are awake. If you're concerned about whether or not you are taking in enough water, the color of your urine is a good measure of how hydrated you are - you need to drink more water if your urine has any color.
  • Try to cut down on your calorie consumption a little each day.  This will be easier than cutting way back right away, and you won't feel so deprived as you will be able to still eat your favorite foods, only in smaller portions.

Health Risks Of Being Overweight

Increased health risks that could result from carrying around extra weight:

Exercise To Lose Weight

Natural weight loss also includes getting some sort of exercise daily. It doesn’t have to be rigorous or last for hours. Walking just 30 minutes a day will afford you some health benefits and without the sweating, grunting and groaning of an exercise guru.

Exercise speeds up your metabolism and increases muscle mass which will in turn help you to burn more fat in less time. The next time you have a choice, try using the stairs instead of the elevator, or parking a little further from away so that you can take some extra steps.

Remember that you are not in training to be a super athlete, you just want to burn some extra calories. And as your level of fitness improves, you may even find that you want to increase your workouts!

Healthy, natural weight loss is achievable for anyone! There is no one who can’t lose weight when they truly want to; when they ask for the help they need to keep their motivation high and when they get the support they need to make their goals a reality.

Too often people are focused on weight loss for a short time and then life gets in the way. Natural weight loss is not a ‘diet’ - it is a way of life that should be maintained for life. Carve out your own weight loss solutions and make them fit into your own lifestyle.

Weight Loss Tips

Whichever weight loss program you decide is best for you, it is important to make changes in your home and in your lifestyle that are necessary to the success of your new way of life.

For instance, if you have decided that the low carb diet plan is the best program for you, make sure your kitchen isn't stocked with breads, pasta, rice, and sugary treats as you will only be creating an uphill battle for yourself.

Many people out there who struggle daily with eating disorders and who desperately search for weightloss programs that work (or at least work for them) don't seem to realize the importance of not having all this tempting 'junk' around them all the time.

But keep in mind that there are very dangerous programs available that could have an even worse impact on your health than the weight itself. Researching and learning everything you can about any supposed weight loss solutions before you try them is also essential to your success.

So for that reason it is always a good idea to consult your doctor for sound, professional advice before starting any weightloss programs - even for natural weight loss programs such as is laid out here.
